The
Westchester Women's Agenda and the
YWCA of White Plains & Central Westchester along with our Community Partners (in formation) are pleased to invite you to a special screening of the documentary
MePeriod on June 25th at 5:30 PM.
Light snacks will be served and there is no fee for this event.
MePeriod is a documentary produced by the Black Women's Health Imperative. The film aims to raise awareness and shed light on the critical issues of menstrual equity and sex education. Our goal for the screening is puberty education, reducing period stigma, and embracing bodily autonomy. You can view the film trailer at the link shared here.
Following the screening we’ll have a robust conversation about the film with
Dr. Adwoa Akhu and
Dr. Mzimeli Morris. Dr. Akhu is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in stress management, trauma and spirituality. Dr. Morris is an Assistant Professor of Women’s Health in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
